No one organization alone can manage a
project as important and complex as the transformation of the
Trinity River.
The Trinity Commons Foundation is one of a network of organizations
devoted to making the river and its amenities a world-class
destination. That network includes:
The City of Dallas Trinity River Corridor
Project Team
This group comprises professionals who work for the City of
Dallas and are directing their expertise toward this important
project. Some oversee the planning and development of different
aspects of the Trinity River project; others manage the environmental
or transportation components, among others.
Working alongside this group are representatives from other
public entities involved in the project. These include the North
Texas Tollway Authority, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and
the Texas Department of Transportation.
The Trinity Trust Foundation
This foundation is a private, non-profit organization that is
raising private funds to implement the “Balanced
Vision Plan” for the Trinity River Corridor. It
also works alongside the City of Dallas and the Trinity Commons
Foundation to build public support for, secure public funding
for, and build, the Trinity River project.
The Friends of the Trinity Strand Trail
This private organization is raising funds to develop a 9.6-mile
hike/bike, commuter and recreational trail just northwest of
downtown Dallas. Part of the trail will run along the original
course of the Trinity River (also known as Old Meanders) within
the Dallas Design District. The master plan also calls for this
new trail to connect to the Katy Trail and to the Trinity River
project.
